Youth Ministry

Purpose Statement:

“The St. Louis COC Youth Ministry exists to REACH out to those in need of spiritual direction by GLORIFYING God with our lives, developing INTIMCY with God, MENTORING one another to spiritual growth, and CONSTRUCTING the body of Christ.”

 

Special Events:

The purpose of our special events is to be a supplement to the other elements of this youth ministry by offering a variety of activities that are fun. Group building, leadership training, outreach focused, family oriented, and spiritually training for students in grades 6th-12th.

Sunday School:

The purpose of Sunday School is to offer opportunity for those in 6th-12th grade to spend time in Bible study as we examine some of the main CORE VALUES of being a Christian.

 

Time – 10:30 am to 11:30 am

 

Student Leadership:

Student Leadership exists for spiritually and mentally mature students that are ready and willing to take the next step in Christian discipleship and leadership.

 

Time – TBA

Upper Room:

Upper Room exists to give the opportunity for students to connect to others their age as they are lead in a time of worship by their peers.  Students also engage in organized discussions on faith and relevant topics that are REAL to them.

 

Time – Last Sunday of each month, 6pm-7pm

 

 

Small Groups:

Small Groups exist to allow 3-10 students a place that is safe to some together for authentic Bible study, accountability, and meaningful relationships under that guidance of a youth staff.

 

Time – Sunday Nights  Senior High 5:30-7,  Junior High 6-7

 

Mentoring:

Purpose of mentoring is to allow students the means to evaluate, process, and incorporate God’s truth into their lives. Student seeking mentoring should contact the youth minister.

 

Youth Ministry Volunteer Staff:

Volunteer youth staff are men and women over the age of 21 that have a desire and passion to encourage students to grow in their spiritual walks as they too continue to grow in their faith.  Volunteer staff are involved in the teaching, training, and discipleship of the students involved in this ministry.  Those seeking to become part of the Volunteer Youth Staff should contact the Youth Minister by calling the office at 989.681.4230.

 

Monthly meetings – 1st Sunday of each month after church in the Sr. High room
